Privacy Policy

Your family's business is your business

Effective October 23, 2026

The short version

You tell us about your family so we can give you better answers. We keep it private, we never sell it, we never use it for advertising, and if you delete your account, everything is forgotten — your account, your children, every conversation. That's the whole spirit of this policy.

What we collect

Waitlist: your email address, so we can tell you when things launch and send you The Connected Parent Playbook.

Your account: your name and email address. If you sign in with a password, it is stored only as a secure cryptographic hash — we can never see or read it. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google, nothing more.

Your children: a first name or nickname (your choice — nicknames work exactly the same) and a birth month and year, so answers stay age-appropriate as they grow. We never ask for full birthdates, last names, photos, or anything that identifies a child in the world.

Your conversations: the questions you ask and the answers you receive, saved so the guidance can build on what you've already shared — that's what lets it remember what worked last month.

Technical basics: secure sign-in cookies that keep you logged in, and standard, anonymous website analytics that help us understand which pages are useful.

How it's used

To answer your questions, the text of your question — along with the family details and recent conversation it needs for context — is processed by an AI model (OpenAI, through a secure integration) solely to generate your answer. It is not used to advertise to you, and it is not sold.

Your email address is used to send the welcome email and messages you've asked for, delivered through our email service provider.

What we never do

We never sell your information. We never share it with advertisers or data brokers. We never use your children's details for marketing. Your family's hard moments are not a product.

Children's privacy

Play is the Path is built for parents and is used only by parents. We never collect information directly from children, and children should never use the app. Everything the app knows about a child is what their parent chose to share — and a nickname is always enough.

Your control

Remove a child, and their conversations are forgotten with them. Delete your account, and everything is forgotten — your account, your children, and every conversation, permanently. Both are right inside the app, no email required.

You can also ask us anytime to see, correct, or delete anything we hold about you: playisthepath@gmail.com.

Security

Your information lives on secure cloud servers, connections are encrypted, and passwords are hashed. No system is perfectly impenetrable, but protecting your family's trust is the point of everything here — we treat it that way.

Education, not therapy

Play is the Path is an educational and coaching resource for parents and is not a substitute for psychotherapy or mental health treatment. Nothing you share here creates a therapist-client relationship, and this is not a medical record of any kind.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and, for anything significant, email you before it takes effect. We will never quietly start doing something this page says we don't do.
